From the region, crowds of people flock to Calcutta in search of work. Due to the scarcity of space, people are forced to occupy every piece of land. THE DOM FAMILY For thousands of years the Dom family has been the keepers of the sacred fire at the cremation ghat in Varanasi. Once a Dom always a Dom. THE BOOK In the Book 'The Last of the Tattooed Headhunters' the Konyak woman follows in the footsteps of her great-grandfather, a great Konyak warrior. The study of all tattoo patterns uncovers the culture of the Konyaks; from growing up to man, headhunting to romance and poems. SADHUS - MONKS OF INDIA Sadhu means one who practises a ″sadhana″ or keenly follows a path of spiritual discipline. The sādhu is solely dedicated to achieving mokṣa (liberation), the fourth and final aśrama (stage of life), through meditation and contemplation of Brahman.
